Question about Expediting in Alabama
Question about Expediting in Alabama
Q : My fiance got in trouble in Alabama. He lives in Kentucky. They picked him up on wednesday and they said Alabama was going to expedite him. What are the laws about expediting in Alabama?
A : The word is "extradite." It means that there was a warrant out for him and the issuing state (Alabama) will be notified of his arrest. If he waives extradition, Alabama will have to come get him within 90-120 days or he'll be released. Note that being released doesn't make the warrant go away or ensure that he won't be arrested on it again and again and again until Alabama does come get him.
