Is it legal loaded firearm in working environment Q : There is an employer who has a firearm/weapon carry permit. In his business, in which he owns, he has a habit of laying down his loaded firearm in the workplace- on a shelf, on a table, etc. There are 5-10 employees working in the same environment with him and they are working within reach of this firearm. This occurs on a daily basis. There are employees who are concerned with their level of safety while they are working. The gun could fall and discharge, a disgruntled employee could grab the firearm, etc. What law(s), if any, are the employees protected under so that the business owner cannot do this? A : On a federal level, not a whole lot. But your unidentified state may have some protections for you.
